Teaching I Timothy 1:4- "nor give heed to fables (myths) and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith." Paul purpose was for Timothy to stop the false teachings of the Ephesian church. Godly edification is the only truth needed! At the Ephesian church, some are teaching fables or myths to misguide people away from God's truth! In addition endless genealogies are being taught to do the same! Both are wrong and mislead people away from godly edification or encouragement!
Application: Fables and myths mixed with sorcery are rampant in today's world. The Harry Potter series has sickened the minds and hearts of many young children and teens! The series of movies have brought no godly edification! In addition endless genealogies are clearly available on the internet---- they used to be readily available in our public libraries! What is America chasing endlessly? What are people searching for? A great aunt who stood up for God in their society, and then they have nothing to do with Him! The Bible is clearly against false teaching through fables and endless genealogies! This writer has nothing to do with either! Will you not join this minister in the fight against false doctrine!
